Quiet trust in God is the basis for our contentment. (NLT, Tyndale)
Ask yourself a couple of questions as you read Psalm 131.
- Is pride getting in the way of your God-based contentment?
- What worries you? Are some of those worries out of your control where only God can handle them?
- Do you trust in God? Who do you put your hope in when things become a bit stressful?
Psalm 131
Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord – now and always.
