View From the Diving Board

I was reading Movie Mom’s blog post talking about what inspired Spielberg and Lucas. In the article, they both reference Norman Rockwell as one of their inspirations for movie making.

Spielberg in particular talks about one of Rockwell’s paintings “of a boy holding on for dear life to the end of a high dive board, peering down at the endless space below… [which represents] how he feels every single time just before he signs on to do another film.”

Michele and I are at a point similar to Spielberg’s and the boy’s. I can also identify with the boy peering down at the endless space below trying to figure out what awaits below. The exciting part is that in order to truly find out is to just go out there and take the dive… exciting and scary.
