Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah began at sundown last night and today is the first full day of the annual holiday. To celebrate along with my Jewish friends here is a cool video that celebrates the Jewish New Year. It is a take on Kanye West’s song called “Gold Digger.” It is great to hear so many themes in the song that are (and should be) common between the Christian and Jewish faiths.

UFO’s: Argument From Ignorance

“UFO’s: the pinnacle of human ignorance.” What a great quote. Thanks to a recommendation from the Twitterverse, I came across this video on the website Mens Agitat Molem.

I love the psychology phrase “argument from ignorance” describing a part of the frailty of the human mind. Also, listen to Neil Tyson’s recommendation for renaming the term optical illusions to “brain failures.” Classic.

Jimmy Fallon Impressions

I think Jimmy Fallon is pretty funny. With this skit is he did a great job doing impressions of his favorite comedians. I think he really nailed Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Cosby, Chris Rock, Robin Williams, and Adam Sandler

Forest Hill Unplugged

Forest Hill went acoustic for our worship service last night. It was an awesome time of returning to the “heart of worship.”

The acoustic service, complete with cupboard-drum, reminded me of MTV’s show, Unplugged. I almost felt like I was Eric Clapton for a moment… a Clapton that was singing a song for Jesus, that is.

World Cup 2010 Commercial

I will admit that the only soccer I really watch is during the World Cup. I have quite a few friends that love soccer and try to sell me on why it is the most popular sport in the world. I still cannot see it, but I am trying.

With that said, this is a cool commercial by Nike in anticipation of the 2010 World Cup. (Thanks to Brooks Peck at Yahoo! for this one.)

It has been a while since I have thrown a favorite song of mine on the blog. I thought this would be a good song since we are ringing in the Christmas season, Holiday season, winter season, etc., etc.

I have never actually seen the play or the movie, but I love this song.

I could not convert the song to an mp3 since it is “protected” so I am embedding one of the YouTube videos.

Also, I do not have too many soundtracks from Broadway musicals so I am pretty sure I am not going to begin adding a lot of show tunes.
